Finally the sun has graced us with her warmth! Like a quilt or a hug, the weather can make or break your outlook! Not sure why but I am not motivated to sew when all it did was rain but now that the sun is here I am still not motivated to stay in and sew!
Sometimes rejection can make you look at the direction your work is going and force you to either change or go back to what was successful in the past. I recently entered a vest in a local juried art show and for the last 5 years was accepted but this year I was not. In all truthfulness, after making over a 100 pieces of clothing and doing my trunk show with them I still make ugly, un wearable garments occasionally and this is one of them. I don't even like it! I love the fabric but the materials used inside the chenille vest sparkle but are like millions of tiny wires rubbing against my skin. This may be the worst garment yet! This may also not be a garment too much longer but reinvented because the fabric is beautiful!
Material Girls Quilt Show next week so finishing up sewing labels and figuring out what my next project will be. I should review my UFO's and finish one of those or finish my youngest grand daughters' Karen Stone nightmare that is awesome but so time consuming to make just one block! Next time I make the easiest one in the book and not the hardest. Challenge it is,
but well worth it! |
